The Full Story

Founder

I’m Iman, the founder of Pangea. I wanted to create this platform to transform the narrative of people of colour in outdoor spaces. Having experienced firsthand the mental benefits of mindfulness in nature, I wanted to share this with others. Pangea is more than just a walking group; it’s about building a community, expressing creativity, and connecting with the environment that surrounds us.

Mission

In a city like London, finding a sense of community and belonging can be difficult. That's why our work has felt so important. Pangea is a charity walking group specifically designed for people of colour, with a vision to build a supportive community.

Pangea goes beyond just walking. We incorporate various activities that promote healing and self-expression. Prayer breaks, meditation, poetry, painting - these are just some of how we encourage our members to explore their creativity

Vision

Pangea's work doesn't stop there. We are determined to break the stigma around open conversations about minority and faith marginalisation. Mental health is a topic that is often brushed under the rug, particularly within these communities. We aim to change that by promoting mental healing through nature. We provide resources and support for our members, encouraging them to seek guidance when needed.

The outdoors is a space meant for everyone, regardless of background, and its benefits are essential in environments like London.
